Daddy’s Day.

God took the strength of a mountain,

The majesty of a tree,

The warmth of a summer sun,

The calm of a quiet sea,

The generous soul of nature,

The comforting arm of night,

The wisdom of the ages,

The power of the eagle’s flight,

The joy of a morning in spring,

The faith of a mustard seed,

The patience of eternity,

The depth of a family need,

Then God combined these qualities,

When there was nothing more to add,

He knew His masterpiece was complete,

And so, He called it … “Dad.”

To my Daddy:

Thank you for everything. For the love, the kindness, the patience, the values you taught me, the scoldings, teaching me how to ride a bicycle, staying up with me late into the night helping me do my homework, defending me, disciplining me, and most importantly thank you for being YOU.  I love you forever.

Daddy and I.

 To anonymous:

It hurt my heart today a great big deal when you decided against spending this day with me. You chose another’s company over mine. For 9 years you have given me the honour of treating you on this special day and today you took it away. When I was in primary school, I remember many a time talking about you for some reason or the other, and I always reffered to you as my ‘second Dad’ I would get asked, “oh you mean your stepdad?” And I would say no, my second Dad.
So not being with you today was deeply saddening, but I guess you have your reasons. I hope to see you soon to give you your Father’s Day card that I wrote for you with such joy thinking of how you would give me a bear-sized hug when you received it. Lots of love.

Ok, deep moment over! Time for some pictures!

I put together a last minute lunch for some family friends and my sister and her husband. We went to a portuguese restaurant called Coimbra, which I might add is a family favourite for as long as I can remember.

Complimentary bread and butter.

Giblets, mmmh!

And now, me!

The top I bought the day before! Finally went shopping! And the chosen jewellery.
